The main changes to the rules cover: New and revised class notations. Implementation of external requirements (IACS and IMO) General updates and corrections. The general entry into force date for these rules is 1st.

Classification society DNV on Friday (2 September) said the total number of ships with alternative fuels ordered in 2022 was 275 (excluding battery operated vessels), according to the 2022 round up of order figures from its Alternative Fuels Insight (AFI) platform. DNV said LNG led the way with 222 ships or 81 % of total orders.
